FlacYeah does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data.
What we collect
Nothing. FlacYeah performs all audio conversion locally on your Mac. It has no
network access, no analytics, no tracking, no accounts, and no third-party SDKs.
Your files
The app only reads the folders or files you explicitly select or drag onto it,
and writes the converted output next to them. Your audio never leaves your device
and is never sent anywhere.
Data sharing
Because no data is collected, nothing is shared with us or with any third party.
FlacYeah converts your audio to lossless FLAC or ALAC in place —
same folder, same filename. Everything happens locally on your Mac.
Getting started
Open FlacYeah and choose your output format and options on the setup screen (editable later with ⌘,).
Drag a folder onto the window, or click [ choose folder… ]. You can also drag individual files.
Review the confirmation dialog, then press Start. Converted files are written next to the originals.
Watch live progress. You can pause, resume, or stop at any time.
FAQ
Is the conversion lossless?
Yes. FLAC and ALAC are both lossless. Sample rate and bit depth are preserved (no resampling).
Which input formats are supported?
MP3, WAV, AIFF, ALAC and M4A — everything macOS decodes natively. (OGG, WMA and APE are not supported.)
Where do the converted files go?
Next to the original, with the same name and a new extension (.flac or .m4a). Your originals are kept unless you turn on "Delete original → Trash".
Are my tags and cover art preserved?
Yes — metadata and embedded artwork are carried over, along with the file's modification date.
A dropped file didn't convert. Why?
macOS grants FlacYeah access to what you select. Dropping (or choosing) a folder lets it write outputs next to the originals throughout the folder. If you drop single files, prefer dropping the enclosing folder instead.
Does it upload anything or need the internet?
No. FlacYeah has no network access. All conversion is on-device.
